OK, please bear with me as I attempt to get this project moving forward. It's going to be slow going, but it will happen.

I am looking for voice actors. I have three scenes written for the first installment of THE COMMONWEALTH and I need two males and two females for the following roles:

GENERAL CHANDLEY (Male, Human, Recurring Supporting Character)


TIAMAT (Female, Progeny, Recurring Supporting Character)


AGENT RICKLES (Male, Human, Recurring Supporting Character)


GOVERNOR CLAYTON (Female, Human, Recurring Supporting Character)

In the interest of saving space and not being too particular, I'm going to give analogous characters for each of the above from (presumably) well-known movies and television programs, then paste the three scenes themselves (be gentle - this is my hobby, so I my scripts may not be ready for Hollywood just yet!).

Between the two, do your best and shoot me an compressed (ZIP or RAR) .ogg or .mp3 file to butcheredenglishstudios@gmail.com - please include the name of the character you're auditioning for in the subject line. Also, you don't have to include all the dialogue - but two or three lines are preferable to just one.

GENERAL CHANDLEY - a self-identified "hard-ass." He's not so much a genuine bigot towards the Progeny (Tiamat's human-alien hybrid species) as he is spooked and intimidated by them. Of course, he doesn't want anyone to know that, and hides his insecurity behind a tapestry of genuine bravado and feigned contempt. Chandley has no illusions about the illegitimate nature of Provision Government of the United States, but has decided that the only alternative to (hopefully) transitional tyranny is the complete and utter collapse of the United States and the American way of life - forever.

TIAMAT - a Progeny female, from the viable (child-bearing) caste. She's cerebral, detached, and a bit haughty, but not an overbearing bitch about it. She also has a very wry sense of humor and either doesn't know how to - or doesn't care to - hide it.

AGENT RICKLES - apparently a toady and yes-man, Agent Rickles is actually an unscrupulous opportunist. He doesn't so much believe in the Provisional Government of the United States so much as he enjoys the opportunities to be sadistic/hedonistic/unprincipled/generally unchecked that it allows him. Rickles is the bastard lovechild of Hannibal Lector and Agent Smith from The Matrix.

GOVERNOR CLAYTON - is the daughter of a former United States government official of high office. Over the years she has morphed from "girls-gone-wild" child of privilege to voracious gold-digger/cougar to Governor of the Protectorate of the State of New York. Although she traded on her family name to achieve her current position, she did so because of a tragedy that dramatically altered her outlook on life in the fairly recent past. A true patriot, she despises the Provisional Government of the United States, but finds The Commonwealth equally repellent. Governor Clayton seeks the restoration of the United States to a mythical "Golden Age" it never actually experienced but that she fervently believes in nevertheless.

Here is a chunk of the script which Peter appears in. The scene before the party takes place at school. Where a cruel teacher reads Ginny's note in front of the entire class, revealing that she has a crush on Peter. Feel free to do all the lines or the ones marked "**"

Scene: Hally's Party. Ginny stands by Smitty who is sitting. Peter approaches her.

Pete: Hi.

Ginny: [surprised] Pete? What are you doing here?

**Pete: I wanted a chance to talk to you.

Ginny: You did?

Pete: [laughs] Yeah, why are you so amazed?

Ginny: I never would have expected you to talk to me…

Pete: Why not?

Ginny: Because I humiliated you.

**Pete: [laughs] Actually, I thought it was kind of flattering. [Smiling] Let’s sit down.

[Ginny turns to sit and notices Smitty is no longer there. She then starts looking around the room.]

Pete: What is it?

Ginny: I just-I can’t see Smitty anywhere.

**Pete: Oh, that’s right, I heard you and Caulder came in with the Alien.

Ginny: His name is Smitty.

Pete: Yeah, no offense, It’s just- he’s a little off.

Ginny: Well, excuse me a second. I’m sort of responsible for him.

Pete: Alright.

I'm looking for some good VO-artists for my upcoming movie "The Children of Llyr" , but basically, anyone who can actually mumble a couple of coherent words into a microphone is welcome. A lot of the character names are very Celtic and so could be pretty hard to pronounce so all characters will have a pronunciation guide included in their bios.

(Sorry for hi-jacking the thread with such a long post, by the way).

Synopsis

After years of bloodshed, the nations of Ireland and Britannia have at last forged an alleigance under their figureheads, King Bran of Britannia and King Matholwch of Ireland. The friendship is sealed with the marriage between Matholwch and the Princess Branwen, Bran's beloved sister.

But alliances were made to be broken.

The twisted acts of one bitter individual engulfs the two kingdoms in fire and shadow as war comes to Ireland.

Here is a list and description of the primary three characters. I'll post bios of secondary, supporting and one-liner characters shortly...

Basically, the story charts a huge war between Britain and Ireland and, as such, the majority of the characters are kings and warlords.

So...here they are...

The Children of Llyr

The Children of Llyr, Brân, Branwen and Manawydan are the three central characters of the movie. Each role will be very large and will need to be undertaken by someone who won't back out half-way through.

King Brân of Britannia

The Warrior King

Name: Brân, son of Llyr
Character Age: Early to mid thirties.
Pronunciation Guide: Pronounced with a long "a".
Role: Very large, the central character
Description: Brân is a just king, a hardy warrior and a good man. For over a decade, he has been defending his borders from Saxons, British rebels and Irish pirates and as a result, is a battle-hardened soldier. Although a kindly man, he is extremely stubborn and rarely accepts defeat, even when inevitable. He also has a ruthless streak; mercy is not a word in his vocabulary.
Voice: A British accent would be ideal, preferrably fairly generic English, although Welsh and Scottish could also fit the role. No strong regional accents (i.e Liverpool, West Country). Deep, commanding.
Audition Line (you may choose one or more sentences):


(Shaking with anger and grief) "I will not rest until his beloved rivers run red with Irish blood!"

(In a speech immediately before a huge battle) "Be not afraid, my brothers. Stand strong in the sun's early light! Let shields be shattered and ribs be broken. Let the ravens scream over blood. Ride, warriors of the Lonely Isle! Ride onwards to victory!"

Branwen, Daughter of Llyr

The Princess of the Court

Name: Branwen, daughter of Llyr
Character Age: 20's
Prounciation Guide: Bran-wen. (Short "a").
Role: Large.
Description: Branwen is a young and extremely beautiful young woman. Fair and kind-hearted, she finds it impossible to think bad of anyone. Although her outward appearance is that of a dainty lady of the court, she is perfectly capable of holding her own in a fight.
Voice: Light, melodic. British ideally, but American would also be acceptable.
Audition Line(s):

(As she is beging dragged away by soldiers) "Get your hands off me!"

(Weak, pathetic,, close to breaking down completely - she is imprisoned) "I want to go home..."

Manawydan

The Ranger

Name: Manawydan, son of Llyr (often shortened to "Dan")
Character Age: late 20's, early 30's
Pronunciation Guide: Man-uh-wud-an (stress on the penultimate syllable).
Role: Very large.
Description: Manawydan is one of Britannia's finest warriors. The commander of a group of elite British rangers, he is extremely loyal to his brother and to his country. He is more cautious than Bran, and is also known as something of a joker.
Voice: Again, British. Manawydan will need a particularly versatile actor; he has a few fairly joky lines mixed with some serious talk and a couple of heart-wrenching scenes as he stands around the bodies of the fallen.
Audition Line(s):

(Final lines of the film. Sad, nostalgic) "Let's go home."

"You should have killed him where he stood."

(Sarcastic) "I miss him already".

(Rejoicing) "Victory! We have victory!"
